🎒 Gift of School Kits 2024: Empowering Young Learners in Lubao, Pampanga

Education is the foundation of every child’s future—and for many students in underserved communities, even basic school supplies remain out of reach. Since October 2024, the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems, under the passionate leadership of Club President Merly B. Sevilla, has been on a mission to change that through its Gift of School Kits initiative.

This project brings hope, dignity, and practical support to young learners across Lubao, Pampanga, aligning with Kiwanis International’s global mission: “Serving the children of the world.”

đŸ« Schools Reached (October 2024 – Present)

This ongoing service project began in Calangain Elementary School and has since expanded to:

  • San Isidro Elementary School
  • Baruya Elementary School
  • Santiago Elementary School
  • Lauc Pao Elementary School

Each school saw 100 students benefit from complete school supply kits—including notebooks, writing tools, and hygiene items. These essentials are critical for learning continuity, especially for children from low-income households.

Likewise, school kits were also distributed to the children living in the remote mountainous areas of Cabangan, Zambales in partnership with the Philippine Navy. These young beneficiaries from underprivileged families and isolated communities—were gifted with essential school items to help them continue their education with hope and dignity.

In addition, 607 students of Nabuclod Elementary School—an Aeta Indigenous community—received the same support through a meaningful partnership with Alexis Louise Quiza Children’s Foundation (ALQCF).

🎁 What’s in the Gift of School Kits?

Each child receives:

  • Notebooks, pad papers, and writing instruments
  • Coloring materials for creativity
  • A personal bag or envelope for school use

For many children, these are their first new supplies for the school year, offering motivation and boosting self-esteem in the classroom.

💡 Why This Matters: The Real Impact

  • Improved School Attendance: Children are more motivated to go to school when they are equipped and confident.
  • Family Relief: Parents struggling financially are supported in ensuring their children are school-ready.
  • Enhanced Learning: The right tools lead to better participation and academic outcomes.
  • Empowerment of Indigenous Communities: The outreach to Nabuclod affirms Kiwanis’ inclusive service, ensuring no child is left behind.

🙌 In Partnership with ALQCF

The success of this project—especially in reaching indigenous Aeta students in Nabuclod—would not have been possible without the enduring partnership with ALQCF. Their trust and support continue to amplify the reach and depth of Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems’ community service.

🌎 A Kiwanis Legacy of Service

This initiative is part of a broader legacy of Kiwanis International, a global organization dedicated to improving the lives of children through service and leadership. In Lubao, this mission is made real by volunteers who care deeply about their community and believe in the power of education.
