Meet the Kiwanians Behind the Mission: Stories of Service and Heart
Behind Every Act of Service Is a Heart That Cares
At the core of the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems is a team of individuals driven by one shared mission: to serve the children of the world. Among them is Lt. Governor Rey, a shining example of humility, commitment, and transformative leadership in Kiwanis Division 2B. His story is a testament to how passion, when guided by purpose, can create waves of lasting impact.
From Volunteer to Visionary Leader
Lt. Gov. Rey officially joined Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems in May 2019, but his journey of service began even before that. Inspired by his sister, Charter Secretary Marlyn, he started out as a volunteer—helping in any way he could. Whether it meant being the driver, logistics aide, water distributor, or managing crowd control during outreach events, he gave his time with a cheerful heart.
What started as an act of support turned into a calling. Realizing how fulfilling it was to bring joy to children and to serve a cause greater than himself, Rey decided to become a full-fledged Kiwanian. He even brought his wife with him, Past President Micaella Bonaobra, sharing not only the workload but also the joy of service.

Lt. Governor Rey: A Dedicated Leader Steering Division 2B Forward
Lt. Governor Rey proudly serves as the third leader from the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems to hold the esteemed position of Division 2B Lieutenant Governor—the highest honor within the Division under the Kiwanis Philippine Luzon District. He follows in the footsteps of two distinguished Past Lieutenant Governors from the club: Charter President Jesusa Uy-Capuli (+), Lt. Governor AY 2013–2015 and Charter Treasurer Marilen Ramos, Lt. Governor AY 2020–2021.
Demonstrating his dedication to service, Lt. Governor Rey was honored to represent the Division at the Kiwanis Asia-Pacific (ASPAC) Convention, held from March 14–16, 2025, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, alongside the Better to Best Team of Philippine Luzon District Governor Felix “Jango” Grepo.
Today, he leads Division 2B, a dynamic division composed of eight active clubs:
- KC-Angeles City
- KC-Bacolor
- KC-Kuliat
- KC-Guagua New Generation
- KC-Lubao Gems
- KC-Mariveles
- KC-Tarlac
- KC-Tres Heneracion

In AY 2024–2025, Lt. Governor Rey has already made remarkable strides, growing Division 2B by 32% through the successful recruitment of 41 new members, bringing the total active and paid membership to 171. Under his leadership, KC-Lubao Gems also reached a membership high of 24, a testament to his commitment to growth and organizational vitality. LG Rey had also executed and accomplished 11 Division Council Meetings, where 10 Division Council Meetings in a year is the norm.
One of his flagship initiatives, the “Gift of Music” service project, has been instrumental in providing underprivileged children in Lubao, Pampanga, with a creative outlet to express themselves and heal through music. This project reflects his belief that service should be transformative and empowering.
Lt. Governor Rey’s approach to leadership is marked by hard work, humility, and heartfelt service. He has not only elevated the club’s visibility and impact but also strengthened camaraderie, unity, and collaboration among the Kiwanians of Division 2B. His tenure reflects a clear vision for sustainable growth and a deeper commitment to the Kiwanis mission—serving the children of the world.
But Lt. Gov. Rey isn’t done yet. With his term until September 30, 2025, he and the devoted Kiwanians of Division 2B remain steadfast in their goal to continue serving the children and contributing meaningfully to the Philippine Luzon District.

A Call to Serve with Heart
Lt. Governor Rey’s journey reminds us that the most meaningful leadership begins with simple acts of service. You don’t have to start big—all you need is the willingness to show up, lend a hand, and care. From logistics to leadership, every role matters in Kiwanis.
