For decades, the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems has stood as a beacon of hope for the most vulnerable members of our society—children. From providing assistance to abandoned, unwanted, and disabled children to supporting those who are economically disadvantaged, the club’s legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and unwavering commitment.

Founded with the vision of helping children, the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems has channeled its efforts toward ensuring that every child, regardless of circumstance, has a chance for a better future. The club’s dedication to service is especially evident in its initiatives aimed at underprivileged children, many of whom face challenges such as poverty, neglect, or disability.

Since 2019, Gift of Hope has been the signature service project of the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems, reflecting our long-term commitment to Serving the Children of the World. What began as a small outreach initiative has grown into a meaningful annual tradition for the Aeta children of Nabuclod, Floridablanca, Pampanga.

Each year, the project reaches the entire student population of Nabuclod Integrated School. In 2025, 602 Aeta students benefited from food packs, care items, and a joyful Christmas celebration—ensuring that every child feels included, valued, and supported.
Gift of Hope addresses more than basic needs. By providing a shared celebration, the project nurtures emotional well-being, belonging, and dignity—especially important during the Christmas season when many families face limitations.

The success of this project is made possible through the enduring partnership with ALQCF. Their continued trust, generosity, and shared commitment to serving children have strengthened the project over the years, demonstrating the power of collaboration with a common purpose.
A defining feature of Gift of Hope is its integration of Aeta cultural traditions, including traditional dances performed by the children. This cultural recognition fosters pride, respect, and deeper connections between the community and Kiwanis volunteers.

The project has become a catalyst for attracting new Kiwanis members who are inspired by its visible impact and clear alignment with Kiwanis values. It also reinforces engagement among existing members through hands-on, purpose-driven service.
More than a one-day activity, Gift of Hope represents sustainability, compassion, and long-term community partnership. As the signature project of the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems, it continues to create lasting change—one child, one community, and one act of service at a time.

The Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems Shoebox Gift Project reached a joyful and impactful conclusion on December 22, 2025, as the club successfully distributed shoebox gifts to 100 children in the coastal community of Sta. Teresa 2nd, Lubao, Pampanga. Rooted in compassion and community service, the project exemplified Kiwanis’ enduring mission to improve the world—one child and one community at a time.

The day began with excitement and camaraderie as Kiwanians traveled to the community aboard a motorized banca without an outrigger, carrying carefully prepared shoebox gifts, milk, and snacks. The unique journey added a sense of adventure and fellowship, reinforcing the strong bond among volunteers united by a shared purpose.
“Service becomes more meaningful when joy, teamwork, and compassion travel together.”
Upon arrival, the team was warmly welcomed by smiling children and grateful parents, instantly transforming the area into a place of celebration and hope.

Each child received a thoughtfully packed shoebox filled with toys, school supplies, personal care items, and a special “WOW” gift, along with milk and snacks. For many children, this was their first time receiving a gift prepared especially for them—an experience that sparked laughter, excitement, and confidence.
A notable highlight was the participation of a foreign guest, an American engineer, who enthusiastically joined the distribution and clean-up. He shared how deeply moved he was by the children’s happiness and the genuine commitment of Kiwanians to service—proving that the spirit of Kiwanis resonates beyond borders.

This project reflects the core of the Kiwanis mission: to serve the children of the world. By reaching underserved coastal communities, the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems continues to create meaningful, sustainable impact where it is needed most.
“A simple shoebox can carry hope, dignity, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.”

Projects like the Shoebox Gift Project are made possible by committed volunteers and generous partners. If you are looking for a meaningful way to give back, join the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems or support our future initiatives. Together, we can reach more children, serve more communities, and build a kinder world—starting today.

The Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems launched its annual Shoebox Gift Project in November 2025, with collection day set on December 15, 2025. Through a simple yet meaningful act—filling a shoebox with toys, school supplies, personal care items, and a special “WOW” gift—supporters helped bring smiles to 100 kindergarten pupils from the day care centers of Lubao, Pampanga.
The project gained strong community engagement after the club published its solicitation post on the KC–Lubao Gems Facebook page, which Kiwanians actively shared to extend its reach.
This initiative extends far beyond giving small presents. It creates:
Many children experiencing economic hardship rarely receive personalized gifts. Opening a box prepared especially for them reinforces their sense of value and belonging.

Practical school supplies such as pencils, crayons, and notebooks help young learners stay motivated and prepared for their classes.
Personal care items encourage good hygiene habits at an early age—an essential part of a child’s overall well-being.
The Shoebox Project brings excitement during the festive season. For many children, the gifts become treasured keepsakes they use long after the holidays.

During the distribution, one child—let’s call her Mia—stood quietly at the back of the room. When a volunteer handed her a brightly wrapped shoebox, her eyes widened in disbelief. She carefully lifted the lid and gasped when she saw a soft cuddly toy sitting on top of crayons, markers, a new toothbrush, and a pair of colorful socks.

Mia hugged the toy tightly, her smile stretching from ear to ear. She kept looking back at the box, touching each item as if confirming it was truly hers. When she found the handwritten note tucked inside—along with a small photo of the donor—her reaction was pure joy. She showed it proudly to her friends and teachers, repeating, “May nagbigay po talaga sa akin.”
Her laughter and excitement captured exactly why this project matters. A simple box, thoughtfully filled, made her feel seen, remembered, and loved.
Supporters were encouraged to include items that are useful, fun, and child-friendly:

A special surprise that brings instant excitement, such as:
No food or chocolate was included to avoid melting in the heat.
Many donors also added a personal note and photo, which often became the children’s favorite part of the box.

The shoebox gifts were joyfully distributed on December 22, 2025, and the event was a resounding success, marked by full attendance of the 100 kindergarten beneficiaries and the enthusiastic support of volunteers. Its success stemmed from the community’s generous donations, seamless coordination by the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems, and the children’s heartfelt excitement as they received their gifts.
Projects like this are possible because of people who choose to give, share, and uplift. If you wish to support more children in Lubao and nearby communities, consider donating, volunteering, or joining the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems.
Together, we can continue to create moments of joy—one child, one box, and one act of kindness at a time.

A restful sleep is more than comfort—it is the foundation of a child’s health, learning, and overall well-being. In remote communities where families struggle to meet basic needs, even a simple sleeping kit becomes a life-changing gift.
This year, Kiwanis Division 2B, in strong cooperation with SCAW (Sleeping Children Around the World), delivered that gift of comfort and dignity to the children of Tarlac. Through a joint division project involving all seven clubs, 300 children received complete sleeping kits designed to keep them warm, safe, and well-rested.
This is more than a donation—it is an investment in a child’s future.

What made this initiative truly remarkable was the unified effort of the seven clubs under Division 2B. Together, they mobilized resources, coordinated logistics, and visited the community to ensure the sleeping kits were delivered with genuine care.
Each child received a complete SCAW sleeping package, typically including:
These items are carefully curated by SCAW to meet the needs of children in developing communities—providing warmth, comfort, and a sense of security.
For many families in Tarlac, proper bedding is a luxury. Children often sleep on cold floors, thin mats, or makeshift bedding that exposes them to illness and discomfort.
By providing quality sleeping kits, Kiwanis and SCAW helped:
A single kit transforms a child’s nights—and, ultimately, their days.

The smiles on the children’s faces said it all. Parents expressed deep gratitude, knowing their children would finally have a warm and comfortable place to rest. Teachers shared how improved sleep leads to better attendance and classroom engagement.
What stood out most was the atmosphere of joy, unity, and hope. The Kiwanians, together with the community leaders, showed that partnerships built on service can create meaningful, lasting impact.
SCAW’s global mission—to provide bed kits to children in need—perfectly aligns with Kiwanis’ commitment to serving the children of the world. This project demonstrated how powerful their combined efforts can be.
With SCAW providing high-quality sleeping kits and Kiwanis Division 2B ensuring they reach the right communities, hundreds of children now sleep better and live better.

As a volunteer of Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems, I observe from both field experience and educational research how basic interventions—like giving school kits—make measurable differences. Let me share what our recent service projects reveal, grounded in evidence and human stories.
Since December 2019, our Gift of Hope initiative has served the indigenous Aeta community in Nabuclod, Pampanga, distributing grocery packs, Jollibee meals, school supplies, hygiene kits, and slippers to over 600 students. In 2021–22, we donated 40 ukuleles to introduce music education, sustained since by dedicated music teachers. Each December, the project continues to empower and uplift.
Parallelly from October 2024, we launched the Gift of School Kits project under President Merly B. Sevilla, delivering school supplies to 100 students each at San Isidro, San Rafael Baruya, Santiago, and Lauc Pao Elementary Schools in Lubao, and an additional 607 Aeta students at Nabuclod Elementary via partnership with Alexis Louise Quiza Children’s Foundation (ALQCF).
Recent studies affirm the value of such interventions:
Taken together, these studies validate Kiwanis’s approach: providing the essentials to children fosters attendance, engagement, and a sense of dignity to learn.

Based on our experience and research-backed understanding:
Our sustained impact relies on partnerships:
Our projects align with the broader Kiwanis mission of Serving the children of the world. Educational research underscores that materials, consistent meals, and attendance-support interventions yield measurable benefits—but they require sustained funding and collaboration.
We invite ALQCF, donors, volunteers, and members to continue partnering with us in the next coming terms—to expand school kit distributions, enrich music and arts education, and strengthen community resilience.
Our service is more than distribution—it is evidence-informed, empathy-driven, and community rooted. The combination of nutrients, educational supplies, hygiene care, and cultural enrichment helps uplift indigenous and underserved children toward brighter futures.
We remain committed to serving alongside local partners, educators, and caring donors. Together, we write success stories—one kit, one meal, one ukulele at a time.
When a child walks into school with a proper bag, notebooks, pencils, and slippers, they aren’t just carrying supplies—they’re carrying possibility. For many children in underserved communities, a school kit is more than just stationery; it is a tangible sign that someone believes in their potential.
Research in education and child development has shown that lack of basic school supplies is linked to lower attendance, reduced participation, and even higher dropout rates in marginalized areas. A child without proper notebooks or pencils often struggles to complete assignments, feels excluded, and loses confidence over time.
By contrast, studies from UNICEF and Save the Children highlight that providing school kits:
For the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems, our Gift of School Kits program has been a cornerstone of our mission for years. This year alone, we provided hundreds of children with complete sets—alongside slippers so they can walk to school comfortably and safely.

Giving a school kit is not just about meeting a child’s immediate needs—it’s about planting seeds for the future. Children who are better equipped for school are more likely to stay in class, perform better academically, and envision brighter futures for themselves.
In communities like Nabuclod and other rural or coastal areas we serve, the arrival of a school kit often comes with something less visible but just as vital: hope. Parents see that their children are valued, and children feel that their education is worth investing in.

The Gift of Hope is more than a program name—it’s a commitment to opening doors for children who might otherwise face them closed. With every bag, notebook, and pair of slippers given, we send a clear message: You belong in school. You matter. Your future matters.
You can help amplify that message. Whether by donating supplies, funding kits, or volunteering at distribution events, you become part of the hope these children carry every day.
Nestled along the coastal edge of Lubao, Pampanga, the community of Lambiki—officially part of Sta. Teresa 2nd—is home to approximately 4,260 residents, most of whom rely on fishing as their primary source of livelihood. While the sea provides for their daily needs, the remote location also means that help and outreach services seldom reach this community. Accessible only through motorized bancas via small ports known locally as dungans—located in Balantacan and the newly opened Calangain—travel to Lambiki is a journey that requires both time and determination.
On Oct 9, 2025 members of the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems embarked on this journey, bringing with them not just supplies but also hope, joy, and a reaffirmation of the Kiwanis mission: to improve the world one child and one community at a time.

Getting to Lambiki was its own story. Volunteers traveled by motorized banca—without outriggers—over the open water. Each sway of the small pump boat brought squeals from some and laughter from others, making the journey a mix of nerve-wracking moments and pure fun. It was a reminder that volunteer work in coastal areas isn’t just about giving—it’s also about embracing the adventure.
Despite the travel expense and the challenge of riding the banca—which caused equal parts laughter, screams, and a touch of nervousness among those unfamiliar or fearful of open water—the journey was filled with anticipation. The destination was worth every moment.
Once ashore, the Kiwanians were met with the bright smiles of Lambiki’s children and the warm welcome of their families.
Impact in Numbers:
This heartfelt outreach was made possible through the generosity of Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems members, whose commitment to service goes beyond geographical barriers.

Living in Lambiki means living in close connection to the sea. Fishing is the lifeblood of the community, but it is also a livelihood vulnerable to weather changes and environmental challenges. Public services, including educational and health support, are harder to access here due to its distance from the town center.
That is why projects like Waves of Joy are not just “charity events”—they are lifelines of compassion, ensuring that children and families in isolated areas feel seen, valued, and cared for.

The event was possible thanks to the hardworking teachers who cooked the food, the tireless coordinator who organized the venue and the schedule, and the generous donors who supported this service project for coastal communities. Their combined effort turned a plan into reality and brought hope to children who rarely receive such visits.
Lambiki is one of many communities in the Philippines where assistance is not frequent. The coastal children assistance we provided brought visible joy—the kind you could see in their smiles as they enjoyed their meals and tried on new clothes. It was proof that charity events for coastal kids in the Philippines can make a meaningful impact, even in a single day.
This wasn’t just a feeding program in St. Teresa 2nd—it was a day of connection, laughter, and shared purpose.

The Waves of Joy project was not just about what was given—it was about the connection made. It was a day of fellowship, laughter, and reaffirmation of what Kiwanis stands for: service, compassion, and community building.
As the bancas carried the Kiwanians back to the mainland, hearts were full and spirits high. The waves that splashed during the ride became a symbol—of resilience, of joy, and of the unwavering Kiwanis commitment to reach even the farthest shores.

If you’ve ever wondered how to volunteer in coastal outreach programs in the Philippines, now is your chance. Whether you want to donate to coastal children, help cook in the next lugaw feeding program, or join a volunteer coastal community team, your time and support can make a real difference.
🌊 Be part of our next journey. Contact us today to join our mission of bringing food, hope, and smiles to underserved coastal communities. Together, we can make waves that reach far beyond the shore.
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in personal goals, daily routines, and the constant noise of modern life. But somewhere, not far from where you live, there’s a child who goes to school barefoot, a baby who needs milk and diapers, or a community where hope feels like a rare visitor.
The Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems exists for these moments—and for these children. For more than a decade, this small but mighty club has been living out the Kiwanis motto: “Serving the Children of the World.”

At its heart, Kiwanis is more than a club. It’s a movement of compassionate individuals who believe that no act of kindness is too small and no child should be left behind. The Lubao Gems chapter is a vibrant mix of teachers, business professionals, real estate practitioners, nurses, musicians, young professionals, and even farmers—each bringing their own skills to serve a bigger cause.
When you join, you’re not just attending meetings—you’re becoming part of a team that rolls up its sleeves, gets into the field, and changes lives in tangible ways.
In the past year alone, the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems has:
From feeding programs and school kit distributions to tree planting, music lessons, and the Gift of Hope for Aeta children, every project is a testament to what’s possible when passion meets purpose.

It’s a movement because service here is personal. Volunteers know the children’s names. Teachers cook the porridge themselves. Music instructors like Mr. Mallari dedicate hours teaching ukulele to abandoned children, guiding them from their first note to full songs over two years of continuous lessons.
Our members don’t just “give”—they build relationships, they show up in rain or shine, and they turn good intentions into real, measurable impact.
If you’ve ever wished you could do something meaningful… something that leaves the world better than you found it… here’s your invitation.
When you join the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems, you:
The children we serve are not just recipients of charity—they are the future of our communities. Every slipper given, every meal shared, every lesson taught plants seeds for stronger, more resilient communities.
This is more than service.
It’s a commitment.
It’s a movement.
And you can be part of it.

Let’s serve the children together—because stronger children mean stronger communities.
In the administrative year 2024–2025, the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems focused its mission where it matters most: on the lives and futures of children.
From distant mountain villages to public schools and children’s shelters, our projects were not just about giving—it was about transforming lives, restoring hope, and nurturing potential.
Here’s a look at how our club helped create meaningful, lasting change this year.
High in the mountains of Floridablanca, we met the needs of Aeta families by distributing essential goods: groceries, hygiene kits, and Jollibee meals. For many children, it was their first taste of such a treat—an experience filled with joy and wonder.
Impact: Beyond nourishment, we gave these children moments of happiness and inclusion—reminding them that they are not forgotten.
We reached out to children who have experienced trauma—those who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Through this outreach, we showed them that they are seen, loved, and worthy of care.
Impact: Emotional healing begins when a child feels remembered. Our presence and support offered that vital first step.
In various schools and barangays throughout Lubao, Pampanga, we distributed school supplies and slippers to underprivileged students. These small but meaningful gifts helped prepare children for the school year with dignity and enthusiasm.
Impact: A pencil or a pair of slippers can be the difference between missing school and showing up with pride.
Music became a lifeline for abused and abandoned children. Through our free music lessons, they were able to express emotions, build confidence, and heal through creativity.
Impact: Music opened a path to emotional recovery and gave children a voice when words were too difficult.
Together with Kiwanis Division 2B, we planted trees to promote environmental sustainability. This project not only improved our ecosystem but also represented a promise to future generations.
Impact: By planting today, we’re helping to secure a healthier tomorrow—for our children and the planet they will inherit.
At the heart of every Kiwanis initiative is the belief that every child deserves safety, opportunity, and love. This year, the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems turned that belief into action.
We don’t just give. We empower.
We don’t just visit. We connect.
We don’t just serve. We uplift.
We extend our deepest gratitude to all our donors, sponsors, partners, and fellow Kiwanians. Your support made each of these accomplishments possible.
Together, we are building a better future—one child, one act of service at a time.

Serving the Children of the World—Every Day, in Every Way.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems, a small but mighty club driven by the Kiwanis motto—“Serving the Children of the World.” In just one year, our members served nearly 3,000 children, contributed over 530 work hours, and invested more than ₱460,000 in service projects—funded through donations and the generosity of our partners and sponsors.
For the past six years, our Nabuclod Gift-Giving has been made possible through the steadfast support of our main partner, ALQCF, whose contributions have consistently brought joy and relief to the children of Nabuclod Integrated School—one of the schools we have proudly adopted.
In our Gift of Music Project, OB Guitars played an instrumental role—literally—by donating the ukuleles that have brought music and hope to abandoned children. These lessons have given them not just a creative outlet but also confidence and joy.

This year, Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems joined four Division 2B joint service projects, expanding our reach beyond Lubao to serve children in Angeles City, Bacolor, and Dueg, Maasin (Tarlac). Organized by Division 2B leadership, these initiatives allowed us to touch the lives of children in multiple communities and strengthen our bond with fellow clubs.
Our tree planting in partnership with Del Carmen National High School—another adopted school—stood out as an environmental effort that directly connects children to the value of caring for the planet.
From school supplies and slippers distribution to feeding programs and gift-giving of diapers, milk, and clothes, every project was anchored in the goal of uplifting children’s lives. Our recent coastal outreach brought warm porridge with egg, milk drinks, biscuits, and fresh grapes to school children, while younger ones received diapers, milk, and clothes—an act of care that was met with smiles and gratitude.
The Step by Step Slippers Program ensured that children could walk to school comfortably, and our regular feeding programs directly improved nutrition in underserved communities.
In the Administrative Year 2024-2025, Past President Reynaldo M. Bonaobra assumed the highest position in Division 2B as Lieutenant Governor, becoming the third Lt. Governor produced by our dear club, Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems. LG Rey’s leadership has been transformative—bringing 11 new members into the club, a milestone that earned him the Distinguished Member Award from Kiwanis Philippine Luzon District.
Read his Division 2B: Better to Best, Building Up Kiwanis to know more about the achievements during his term.

Our club may be small, but its strength lies in its people. We are composed of teachers, business owners, real estate practitioners, nurses, musicians, young professionals, and even a farmer—all united by a shared commitment to serve.
This year also marked our digital growth. We launched our official Kiwanis.org website, a step up from our previous free WordPress site, and integrated our Instagram handle with Facebook for a more connected online presence—expanding our visibility and outreach potential.
From humble beginnings to a decade of sustained impact, the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems continues to live its mission. This year’s accomplishments—from local feeding programs to cross-community collaborations—reflect the dedication of our members and the generosity of our partners.
With every school kit given, every tree planted, every ukulele strummed, and every smile shared, we affirm our pledge: to serve the children and enrich the community, one project at a time.
If these stories resonate with you, know this—your time, talent or donations can ignite even more hope:
Together, we serve the children and enrich our community—one act of kindness at a time.
