Whether exploring beaches, bonding over shared experiences, or simply enjoying the journey, these trips bring our team closer and leave lasting memories.

A special highlight of our meetings is the presence of the elders of Division 2B. These seasoned Kiwanians, who have dedicated decades to serving through Kiwanis, provide invaluable guidance and wisdom. 4th Division Council Meeting of Division 2B: A Day of Unity, Leadership, and Celebration

On January 11, 2025, from 10:30 AM, the 4th Division Council Meeting (DCM) of Division 2B, led by the dynamic Lt. Governor Reynaldo M. Bonaobra, took place in Bacolor, Pampanga, with KC-Bacolor proudly hosting the event.

The meeting unfolded seamlessly, filled with enthusiasm and camaraderie as Kiwanians tackled key agenda items, including:
✔️ Monthly Kiwanis Club Reportings, showcasing the dedication of all clubs in maintaining timely updates.
✔️ Preparations for the upcoming Kiwanis Week, with the Kiwanis Night, featuring “ZumBata” and a meaningful Wreath-Laying Ceremony to honor Kiwanis’ legacy of service and commitment.
✔️ Distribution of the District Awards criteria, guiding clubs to excel in their projects and initiatives.

Lt. Gov. Rey expressed heartfelt gratitude to all club leaders for their remarkable cooperation, particularly in ensuring early payment of club dues—a feat that earned every club an award! His leadership, supported by Division 2B elders Past Lieutenant Governor (PLG) Manny, PLG Owen, PLG Loret, PLG Loise, and PLG Teresa, set the tone for a highly productive and inspiring meeting.

Adding to the joy of the day, new recruits joined to experience the spirit of Kiwanis firsthand, while the meeting also served as a post-New Year’s party celebration. Children of Kiwanians enjoyed swimming in the background, adding laughter and warmth to the gathering.

The event concluded with a lively fellowship, where members shared a delicious potluck feast brought by each club. Conversations flowed freely, underscoring the unity and camaraderie of Division 2B—a testament to the power of teamwork and service.

“Gift of Hope” Year 6: Spreading Joy and Empowerment in Nabuclod

On December 21, 2024, the serene and lush mountains of Nabuclod, Floridablanca, Pampanga, came alive with the laughter and joy of children as the Gift of Hope project reached its 6th remarkable year. This heartwarming initiative, a collaborative effort of the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems (KC-Lubao Gems) and the Alexis Louise Quiza Children’s Foundation (ALQCF), brought smiles, hope, and practical assistance to the underprivileged Aeta children of the Nabuclod Integrated School.

A Vibrant Venue Buzzing with Excitement

The venue was teeming with children, their eyes sparkling with anticipation. These curly-haired, darker-skinned children, members of the Aeta community, embody resilience amidst the challenges of underprivileged living conditions. On this special day, their expressions of joy and curiosity were contagious as they eagerly waited to discover the gifts prepared just for them.

The Gift of Hope event was more than a distribution of items; it was a celebration of community, kindness, and empowerment. A total of 607 children, the entire population of the school, were beneficiaries of this fun-filled day.

A Community Effort of Care and Compassion

The day began with the arrival of Ms. Odette Ricasa, a distinguished representative of ALQCF who traveled all the way from Manila to witness and take part in this inspiring event. Ms. Ricasa, known as the first Filipina to travel the world, has explored over 195 countries and represents the spirit of service and adventure. Her radiant smile lit up the event as she cheered for the children performing on stage, a testament to her commitment to the foundation’s mission of uplifting young lives.

The Alexis Louise Quiza Children’s Foundation, based in Los Angeles, California, was established with the vision of supporting underprivileged children worldwide. Named in honor of Alexis Louise Quiza, the foundation tirelessly works to provide resources, education, and hope for a brighter future. It is through their unwavering support that the Gift of Hope project continues to thrive.

A Day of Joyful Giving

KC-Lubao Gems meticulously prepared for the event, ensuring every child received the care and attention they deserved. School supplies, essential tools for education, were thoughtfully packaged, while slippers, outsourced with care, were provided to ensure a proper fit. To add a touch of sweetness, tetra packs of flavored milk were distributed to 250 select children, spreading both nourishment and delight.

The children climbed the stage one by one, their wide grins a testament to the excitement of receiving their gifts. The school supplies, the perfect slippers, and the tasty milk became symbols of a community’s care and a foundation’s commitment. The joy of giving resonated in every corner of the venue, creating an atmosphere of gratitude and hope.

Gratitude and Hope for the Future

The Gift of Hope project was a resounding success, made possible by the dedication and compassion of all involved. Special thanks go to ALQCF for their unwavering support and to the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems for their meticulous preparation and execution.

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, the halls of the Kiwanis Lodge in Angeles City, Pampanga were filled with laughter, music, and the unmistakable spirit of Kiwanis. It was a day that perfectly blended service, leadership, and holiday cheer as Kiwanis Division 2B held its 3rd Division Council Meeting followed by a festive Christmas Party attended by leaders and members from eight vibrant clubs:

Morning of Purpose: The 3rd Division Council Meeting

The day began at 10:30 AM with the formal Division Council Meeting (DCM) hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Angeles City. Members proudly wore the Division 2B shirt in grey with the motto “Better to Best,” as they discussed official matters, upcoming projects, and ways to continue living the Kiwanis mission: “Serving the Children of the World.”

This meeting was well-prepared thanks to an Emergency Google Meet held days prior, ensuring that everything from the program to logistics was in perfect order.

An Afternoon of Fun and Fellowship

Once the official business concluded, it was time for celebration. The Division 2B Christmas Party transformed the venue into a lively hub of holiday spirit, with a red and green motif creating a festive ambiance. Laughter echoed as each club hosted their own fun games with prizes, and the much-awaited ₱500 exchange gift brought excitement and smiles all around.

The raffle prizes were another highlight, with generous contributions from Lt. Governor Atty. Aleta Tolentino, a proud Capampangan, Immediate Past District Governor Glenda Hufano, and District Governor Felix “Jango” Grepo—making sure everyone went home with joy in their hearts (and gifts in their hands!).

Music, Dance, and the Spirit of Kiwanis

The celebration reached a lively high point when Immediate Past President Micaella Bonaobra and Lt. Governor Reynaldo M. Bonaobra took the stage for a spirited live performance of VST & Company hits, instantly energizing the crowd. Their dynamic duet sparked excitement, drawing Kiwanians to the dance floor where the atmosphere turned electric with joy, rhythm, and shared camaraderie. To make it even more special, Past Lt. Governor Manny Adriano serenaded everyone with his favorite song, “Words” by Bee Gees, sparking a heartfelt sing-along that truly captured the joy of the season.

From delicious catered lunch to dancing the night away, this was more than just a party—it was a reminder of what makes Kiwanis strong: friendship, service, and shared purpose.

From Better to Best: Kiwanis Division 2B Welcomes New Leaders and Members with Purpose and Heart

The Kiwanis Division 2B of the Philippine Luzon District (PLD) marked a proud milestone as all eight clubs gathered at the elegant Royce Hotel & Casino in Clark, Pampanga on November 29, 2024 for the Induction of New Members and Installation of New Officers for the Administrative Term 2024–2025 under the inspiring banner of “Better to Best, Building Up”, led by Lt. Governor Reynaldo M. Bonaobra.

The night was more than ceremony—it was a celebration of growth, unity, and service. With 41 new members inducted this year, Division 2B achieved an impressive 31.5% membership increase, a rare accomplishment in recent years. This growth reinforces the Division’s commitment to its mission: serving the children of the world, one community at a time.

A Gathering of Leaders and Friends

Gracing the momentous occasion was District Governor Felix “Jango” Grepo, alongside respected elders and leaders of the Philippine Luzon District. Other Kiwanis clubs from different divisions joined the celebration in a show of interclubbing camaraderie, extending warm congratulations to the newest members and the installed leaders of Division 2B.

The moment deepened when the beloved song “You Light Up My Life” played, with handshakes offered to each new member from fellow Kiwanians—an intimate and heartfelt welcome symbolic of the light they bring into the lives of children and communities.

Officers were similarly honored, receiving their officer pins, as the timeless anthem “If We Hold On Together” echoed through the hall—a reminder that together, with unwavering hope and shared vision, great things can be achieved. These songs are cherished staples of Kiwanis inductions, resonating with the spirit of unity and perseverance.

A Night of Fellowship and Celebration

The formal proceedings gave way to an evening of joy—filled with dancing, performances, laughter, and delicious food. The atmosphere was one of optimism and shared purpose. For the new members, it was a taste of the camaraderie, energy, and passion that define the Kiwanis experience.

Lt. Governor Rey Bonaobra expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the 143 Kiwanian attendees, for the overwhelming support from PLD leaders, Division 2B members, and interclubbing guests:

“It’s not just about numbers; it’s about building a stronger family of servant-leaders who share the same heart for children and community.”

Stewardship in Action: Strengthening Division 2B Fellowship and Service

The Joint Induction and Installation Celebration not only marked a milestone for Division 2B but also generated a surplus of ₱21,000. This amount was thoughtfully allocated to fuel the Division’s succeeding activities, ensuring that the spirit of service continued well beyond the event. The funds supported the Division Christmas Party on December 8, 2024, provided a Jollibee lunch treat for 40 ZumBata children who performed during Kiwanis Week, and covered expenses for the Wreath-Laying Ceremony held in commemoration of the same celebration. Additionally, tokens of appreciation were extended to District Secretary Mac Tancinco and District Education Chair Estie Vibora during the New Members Orientation, where 41 new members were warmly embraced into the Kiwanis family.

A Call to Serve with Passion

To the new members, the night was both a warm welcome and a challenge—to carry forward the Kiwanis mission with enthusiasm, to uphold its traditions, and to embody its purpose: improving the world one child and one community at a time.

Kiwanis One Day 2024: Planting for a Greener Tomorrow

Trees are the lungs of our planet, and planting them is one of the simplest yet most impactful acts of service we can offer to future generations. This statement captured the spirit of the event as Kiwanians from Division 2B gathered on November 16, 2024, to celebrate the annual Kiwanis One Day—a global initiative uniting volunteers in meaningful service projects to improve communities, protect the environment, and positively impact children’s lives. Mr. Tayag is a staunch environmentalist in the province of Pampanga and donated 250 seedlings for the Kiwanis One Day Treeplanting project.

Held on November 16, 2024, this year’s Kiwanis One Day celebrated a remarkable environmental initiative. With the theme “Building a Better Tomorrow by Bringing the Best in Serving The Children“, this activity was originally scheduled for October 26, 2024 but was postponed due to multiple typhoons. However, the new date proved fortuitous as Kiwanians from Division 2B came together under clear skies, despite Typhoon Signal No. 2 from Super Typhoon Pepito, allowing for a safe and successful day of activities.

Division 2B Joins Philippine Luzon District’s Call for 20,000 Seedlings

In response to the Philippine Luzon District (PLD) Governor Felix “Jango” Grepo’s call to plant 20,000 seedlings for Kiwanis One Day, Division 2B planted 250 saplings, reinforcing their commitment to environmental sustainability. A total of 70 persons helped plant the saplings along the protected riverbank. These significant contributions began with a vibrant motorcade led by Lieutenant Governor Reynaldo M. Bonaobra, starting from Santo Niño, Lubao, Pampanga. Participants from eight Kiwanis clubs gathered to celebrate their shared mission.

Tree Planting: A Commitment to Nature and the Next Generation

The tree-planting event took place at Sta. Teresa 1st Gumain Riverbank, Lubao, Pampanga, a protected area designated to prevent land erosion caused by quarrying and to ensure a healthier environment for future generations. Kiwanians planted 250 saplings with the help of students from Del Carmen National High School (DCNHS), who eagerly participated in the activity. Sta. Teresa 1st Brgy Captain Ernando Bagang was supportive of the project who prepared and cleared the site together with his constituents.

ARAW-ACI, led by Chairman Mr. Renato “Abong” Tayag, Jr. supported the initiative with a generous donation of 250 saplings, including Narra, Pili, Bamboo, Sampalok, Guyabano, and Atis varieties. The 250 saplings were planted at the riverbank, while another 50 saplings were donated to DCNHS, where students and teachers committed to nurturing them. Del Carmen, Lubao, Pampanga is located within the Pampanga Delta, a low-lying area naturally prone to flooding especially during heavy rainfall.

Mrs. Minerva Arceo, also from ARAW-ACI, emphasized the significance of planting trees for environmental protection and as a safeguard for children’s future. “Every tree planted today is a promise of a brighter, greener future for generations to come,” she said. Mrs. Arceo also commended the Kiwanians for their dedication and acknowledging the vital role of trees in preserving the environment for children.

Students from DCNHS eagerly joined in the tree-planting initiative, guided by their teachers, showcasing their dedication to both education and the environment.

One student remarked:
“It’s amazing to know that the trees we plant today will grow with us. Thank you, Kiwanis, for teaching us how to care for nature and for the gifts that will help us in school.”

Lt. Governor Reynaldo Bonaobra expressed his gratitude for the collective effort, stating:
“Every seedling planted today represents our commitment to a greener, healthier tomorrow for the children we serve and the communities we cherish.”

Legacy of Service at Del Carmen National High School

After the tree planting, Kiwanians gathered at DCNHS for a short program. The DCNHS Choir performed the National Anthem and the Kiwanis Hymn, setting an inspiring tone for the event. School Principal Jonar L. Naluz expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support Kiwanis has provided over the past decade, as DCNHS is an adopted school of the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems.

The program included a lively gift-giving ceremony, where students received school supplies, tumblers, umbrellas, canned goods, toys, and hygiene kits. Snacks was also provided from the much-loved Filipino burger chain, Jolibee. The smiles on the children’s faces showcased the tangible impact of Kiwanis’ generosity and dedication.

To make the day even more memorable, traditional Filipino games (Palarong Pinoy) such as Tug of War, Luksong Baka, Sack Race, Chinese Garter, Palayok, Jak en Poy, and Agawan ng Panyo were held. The energy and laughter of students filled the venue, with Kiwanis volunteers joining in the fun. KC-Lubao Gems sponsored the Tug of War game, further cementing their connection with the students. The joy and excitement in the students’ faces underscored the importance of blending fun with meaningful service.

Principal Naluz extended his gratitude during the opening remarks, highlighting the ongoing impact of Kiwanis’ efforts on the school’s students. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also signed to ensure the long-term care of the planted trees.

“For nearly 10 years, the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems has been a beacon of hope for our school. The support you bring not only uplifts our students but inspires them to dream bigger and aim higher.”

Kiwanis Division 2B in Action: United for Bicol, Inspired by Compassionate Leadership

In the wake of one of the most devastating typhoons to hit the northeastern Philippines—Typhoon Kristine—our Kiwanis community under Division 2B rose to the call of service with urgency, compassion, and unity. As widespread flooding and landslides ravaged provinces such as Bicol, Quezon, and Isabela, Kiwanians responded with the purest form of “bayanihan”—the spirit of helping one another without hesitation.

Heeding the Call to Serve

At the forefront of this humanitarian response was our dynamic and dedicated Lieutenant Governor Rey Bonaobra, who immediately rallied clubs across Division 2B, after hearing the call to action from our very own Kiwanis Philippine Luzon District Governor Felix “Jango” Grepo.

As a proud volunteer from Division 2B, I witnessed firsthand how clubs across our division mobilized in solidarity. Our clubs may serve different communities, but we are one in heart and mission—serving the children and families in need.

From Compassion to Action: Division 2B’s Collective Effort

Thanks to the strong leadership of Lt. Gov. Rey, the clubs of Division 2B, located in Region 3, actively participated in Kiwanis Philippine Luzon District’s national initiative to support Bicol, located in Region 5—chosen as the focal point of aid. The region suffered extreme flooding, submerging homes and displacing thousands. It became critical for Kiwanians to respond quickly—and we did.

Cash donations, worth Php 22,000, were gathered across our 8 clubs to quickly provide to the needs of typhoon victims.
Coordination with Bicol-based Kiwanis clubs ensured that aid reached the most affected communities efficiently.
Our unity was visible not only in donations but in dedicated volunteer hours, logistics support, and fundraising mobilization.

Governor Jango personally matched the total amount raised by Kiwanis members for Bicol, generously donating from his own pocket to double the impact. This selfless gesture deeply moved us. Immediate Past Governor Glenda Hufano also stepped up significantly, donating two rubber boats to assist in ongoing rescue operations. Her generosity reminds us that service leadership transcends titles—it’s a way of life.

Passing the Torch, Building Up for Greater Impact: Kiwanis Division 2B Turnover Ceremony & Planning Conference 2024

The Kiwanis Division 2B Philippine Luzon District marked a significant milestone on September 21, 2024, with the Turnover Ceremony held at Lourdes, Lubao, Pampanga. The event celebrated the handover of leadership from Outgoing Lt. Governor Maria Theresa S. Dizon of the “Light Up, Kiwanis” term to Incoming Lt. Governor Reynaldo M. Bonaobra of the “Better to Best, Building Up” term.

Symbol of Service and Leadership

In the solemn tradition of Kiwanis, the gong and gavel — symbols of responsibility, authority, and service — were passed from outgoing to incoming leaders. The ceremony reflected the Kiwanis commitment to continuity, unity, and unwavering service to children and communities.

Lt. Governor Reynaldo M. Bonaobra expressed heartfelt gratitude for the trust placed in him and shared his excitement to lead Division 2B closer to its mission:

“Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. We are dedicated, and we give generously of our time and resources to help children. We make communities stronger by connecting many people and organizations for a greater good.”

These priorities serve as a blueprint for clubs to maximize service impact, strengthen leadership, and ensure sustainability.

Recognizing Pillars of Service

A highlight of the event was the awarding of the Kiwanis Pillars Fellowship Awards, presented to the Division’s oldest clubs for decades of continuous service:

Together, these clubs represent 124 years of combined service — a testament to Division 2B’s resilience and dedication to children.

The atmosphere was warm and celebratory, with heartfelt conversations, shared laughter, and strengthened friendships. Veteran members inspired new leaders, and the Division left united with a renewed sense of purpose under LG Rey Bonaobra’s leadership.

The 2023–2024 administrative year marked a remarkable chapter for the Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems, as it delivered meaningful, measurable, and sustainable impact across communities in Pampanga and beyond.

Guided by the leadership of President Micaella Bonaobra, the club remained steadfast in its commitment to the global mission of Kiwanis International — serving the children of the world.

This year was not only defined by accomplishments, but by the collective spirit of generosity, collaboration, and compassion shared by members, partners, and supporters.

500+ volunteer service hours rendered

638 Aeta children supported in Nabuclod, Pampanga
200 Aeta families provided with Noche Buena grocery packs

Reaching Communities, Changing Lives

The year began with Kiwanis One Day, setting a powerful tone for sustained service and engagement.

Throughout the year, the club actively participated in environmental initiatives aligned with ASPAC’s Green Generation Campaign, including Division-wide tree planting activities — reinforcing a shared responsibility to protect the future for coming generations.

In Nabuclod, Pampanga, the club continued its deep commitment to Aeta communities through feeding programs, distribution of school supplies, slippers, and essential medicines. Beyond material support, these efforts brought joy, dignity, and hope — especially to children who need it most.

During the holiday season, the club extended its service to 200 Aeta families, providing grocery packs for Noche Buena — ensuring that families could celebrate Christmas with warmth, nourishment, and a sense of belonging.

Education and Empowerment Initiatives

Education remained a cornerstone of the club’s mission.

In collaboration with Division 2B, the club supported the establishment of the Kiwanis Nook of Wisdom (KNOW) in Guagua, Pampanga — a mini-library designed to inspire learning and literacy among children.

This initiative was made possible through the generosity of Glenda Huffano, whose donation of books and printers created a lasting resource for the community. A vibrant mural was also painted to promote the Kiwanis identity and create a welcoming, inspiring environment for young learners.

Promoting Health and Well-Being

The club’s commitment to holistic child development included a comprehensive dental mission in Calangain, Lubao, Pampanga, serving 100 residents.

Services included fluoride treatments for children, dental extractions, cleaning, fillings, and the distribution of medicines — improving both health outcomes and overall well-being within the community.

🎵 Healing Through Music: Gift of Music Program

One of the most meaningful initiatives of the year was the Gift of Music Program, which provided six weeks of ukulele lessons to selected abandoned children.

Music plays a vital role in emotional healing — particularly for children who have experienced trauma or neglect. Through this program, participants developed confidence, discipline, creativity, and a sense of belonging.

More than learning an instrument, these children discovered a voice — and with it, renewed hope.

Recognition and Leadership Excellence

The club’s dedication to impactful storytelling and service was recognized internationally, earning a place as one of the Top 2 Finalists at the Kiwanis ASPAC Convention Photo Contest.

Equally significant is the leadership milestone achieved by Past President Reynaldo Bonaobra, who was named Lieutenant Governor Designate for Division 2B for the 2024–2025 term.

This marks the third time a leader from the club has risen to this prestigious role — a testament to the club’s strong leadership culture and commitment to excellence.

On July 13, 2024, the Continuous Learning Education (CLE) workshop, held at Kiwanis Hall in Angeles City, Pampanga, was a pivotal moment for the leaders of Kiwanis Division 2B. Led by Lt. Gov.
