Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems Shoebox Gift Project: Bringing Hope and Smiles to Coastal Children

The Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems Shoebox Gift Project reached a joyful and impactful conclusion on December 22, 2025, as the club successfully distributed shoebox gifts to 100 children in the coastal community of Sta. Teresa 2nd, Lubao, Pampanga. Rooted in compassion and community service, the project exemplified Kiwanis’ enduring mission to improve the world—one child and one community at a time.

A Journey That Made the Service Even More Meaningful

The day began with excitement and camaraderie as Kiwanians traveled to the community aboard a motorized banca without an outrigger, carrying carefully prepared shoebox gifts, milk, and snacks. The unique journey added a sense of adventure and fellowship, reinforcing the strong bond among volunteers united by a shared purpose.

“Service becomes more meaningful when joy, teamwork, and compassion travel together.”

Upon arrival, the team was warmly welcomed by smiling children and grateful parents, instantly transforming the area into a place of celebration and hope.

Joyful Distribution and Lasting Impact

Each child received a thoughtfully packed shoebox filled with toys, school supplies, personal care items, and a special “WOW” gift, along with milk and snacks. For many children, this was their first time receiving a gift prepared especially for them—an experience that sparked laughter, excitement, and confidence.

Project Impact Highlights

  • Served 100 children in a geographically challenged coastal area
  • Supported early childhood development through educational and hygiene items
  • Promoted nutrition by providing milk and snacks
  • Strengthened community trust and parent engagement
  • Fostered fellowship and volunteerism among Kiwanians

A notable highlight was the participation of a foreign guest, an American engineer, who enthusiastically joined the distribution and clean-up. He shared how deeply moved he was by the children’s happiness and the genuine commitment of Kiwanians to service—proving that the spirit of Kiwanis resonates beyond borders.
