Celebrating 110 Years of Service: Kiwanis Division 2B’s Joy-Filled Kiwanis Week 2025

Kiwanis Division 2B, under the leadership of Lt. Governor Reynaldo M. Bonaobra, celebrated the 110th anniversary of Kiwanis International with a vibrant, week-long series of activities that showcased service, camaraderie, and the joy of giving. From January 19 to January 26, 2025, the division’s eight dedicated clubs came together for Kiwanis Week—a celebration that not only honored the organization’s rich legacy but also strengthened its mission to serve children and communities.

With the theme “Get Together, Stay Together”, Kiwanis members across the country embraced the spirit of service through a series of impactful activities, bringing hope and joy to children and families while strengthening bonds among members.

The 8 clubs came together to deliver not just programs, but memories that will last a lifetime. The participating clubs were:

  • Kiwanis Club of Angeles City
  • Kiwanis Club of Bacolor
  • Kiwanis Club of Guagua New Generation
  • Kiwanis Club of Kuliat
  • Kiwanis Club of Lubao Gems
  • Kiwanis Club of Mariveles
  • Kiwanis Club of Metro Tarlac
  • Kiwanis Club of Tres Heneracion

A Meaningful Start: Wreathlaying at Guagua Park

The celebration opened with a wreathlaying ceremony at the Jose Rizal Monument in Plaza Burgos, Guagua, Pampanga. This symbolic gesture honored Dr. Jose Rizal’s legacy as a champion of education, civic responsibility, and national pride—values that resonate deeply with the Kiwanis mission of empowering the next generation.

The event was attended by Mayor Anthony Joseph S. Torres of Guagua, Pampanga, and Councilor Jovy D. Tulio, who expressed gratitude to Kiwanians for their consistent partnership and service to the children of Guagua.

ZUMBATA: Dancing for Joy and Health

From solemn tribute to spirited celebration, the energy skyrocketed as children from Natividad Daycare Center lit up the event with an electrifying ZUMBATA performance—zumba for “bata” (children). Their bright smiles and boundless energy reflected the joy of movement, health, and community. “ZumBata” performance also set the tone for the week’s theme: fun, fitness, and youth empowerment.

Every performer received thoughtful appreciation gifts—tumblers, towels, sweets—and together with their parents or guardians, 40 individuals enjoyed a hearty brunch at Jollibee, the beloved Filipino fast-food chain. The moment was more than a meal; it was a shared celebration of community spirit.

Sharing Joy at EPZA Resettlement Elementary School

After the ZUMBATA event, Division 2B Kiwanians traveled to EPZA Resettlement Elementary School in Pulung Cacutud, Angeles City. There, they brought smiles to 300 children, distributing gifts, fruits, and serving a warm, hearty meal.

For many of these children, it wasn’t just about the items they received—it was about feeling seen, valued, and celebrated.

A Grand Culmination: Kiwanis Night at Solaire Resort and Casino Manila

The Kiwanis Week celebration reached a spectacular finale with Kiwanis Night held on January 26, 2025, at the prestigious Solaire Resort and Casino Manila. This much-anticipated gathering brought together Kiwanians from across the Philippine Luzon District to celebrate 110 years of global service.

Division 2B sent its largest delegation ever—32 proud members—marking a historic turnout for the division. The evening was filled with fun, dancing, camaraderie, and an abundance of prizes, creating memories that attendees will cherish. Guests enjoyed sumptuous cuisine in an elegant setting, surrounded by fellow Kiwanians who share the same dedication to service.

The night’s highlight was the grand raffle draw for a Ford Territory crossover SUV, with tickets sold for only Php500 each—an irresistible opportunity for all. Division 2B raised Php120,000 from ticket sales, a great effort in support of PLD’s initiative. True to his generous spirit, District Governor Felix “Jango” Grepo ensured there were numerous consolation prizes, including designer bags, gifts, and cash awards. Delegates from KC-Angeles and KC-Metro Tarlac were delighted to win signature bags, while a lucky member from KC-Tres Heneracion received a Php5,000 cash prize.

The celebration was more than just a night of entertainment—it was a testament to the fellowship and unity that keep Kiwanis strong after more than a century of service.

Why Kiwanis Week Matters

Kiwanis Week is more than a commemoration—it’s a reaffirmation of the Kiwanis promise. Each activity during the week was a testament to what happens when communities unite under a shared purpose. From honoring national heroes to feeding the hungry, from promoting health through dance to giving gifts of joy, Division 2B proved that service is most impactful when delivered with both heart and intention.
